Ap art SI rough draft

AP Art SI statements

1)

My question is how can I show the bond between me and my sister by exploring memories we have together. I wanted to dive into me and my sister's relationship, the good parts, and bad and try to find how it turned out to be that way. We had our struggles through the years, especially with the death of our mother, that strained our relationship. However, it ended up coming back to how it was when we were kids, caring, fun, and genuine, and is now prominent in our later teenage years. I explored the memories of our lives, and discovered that having a lot of the shared memories and experiences creates a bond between us, a bond strengthened by our blood relation. I explored the feeling after separation that supported the strength of this bond towards the end of my portfolio.

When i first started my sustained investigation, i tried to use jellyplate as my medium. However, it was not portraying my S.I how I wanted, so I ventured to color pencil. I practiced doing shading on objects like spheres and frogs, and worked with using only primary colors and all colors. Through practicing I ended up leaning more towards using all colors and developed my shading techniques throughout my portfolio. I experimented with watercolor for one of my projects to see if it would portray my message how I wanted. Even though I think it was successful, I found myself to excel more at color pencils, so I went back. Practice with color pencils made me think more deeply about how I could use it to not only portray memories, but also emotion in my subjects. This became more popular towards the end of my experimentation, and following the end of my portfolio, with the coloring of emotions into surroundings and subjects. I made these revisions to deepen the exploration of my S.I and my portfolio to dive into the deeper parts of me and my sister's bond, not just shared memories that connect us, but also the bonds of our emotions.
